Name: Saoirse O'Connor
Age: 22
Race: Human
Occupation: Waitress and sales assistant
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Hazel
Voice: Saoirse is quite softly spoken, with a thick Belfast accent
Height: 5'5
Build: Petite

Noticeable features?:

There's not really anything out of the ordinary about how Saoirse looks, other than the fact she doesn't always sleep well, so she has a tendency to look quite tired at times.

Usually seen wearing:

- Lots of black or dark grey, she very, very rarely wears anything colourful
- Usually grey skinny jeans, oversized black cardigans, vest or crop tops
- A black beanie hat
- Chokers, minimalistic silver jewellery

Abilities?:

Saoirse can see, hear and speak to ghosts of those who have passed on. They appear to her as regular, flesh-and-blood living people, and so at times it can be hard for her to distinguish between the living and the deceased.

Personality:

- While she's very quiet, Saoirse isn't necessarily shy, nor is she unfriendly. She simply prefers to observe things around her and listen, although if she wants to talk to you, she will, or if you speak to her she'll happily engage in conversation. If she's with friends she comes out of her shell much more easily, and can be quick witted and charming.

Her tendency to stay quiet and observant stems from when she was much younger, and wanted to make sure people were among the living before she publicly acknowledged them. Nowadays she's better at distinguishing between ghosts and living people, but that's a habit that's always stuck with her.

- She was a very bright student in school, but sometimes has a lot of troubling focusing on one thing at a time, so more often than not she'll have her phone in her hand or a notebook of some description. If she has nothing to occupy her hands with, she will fidget.

- Saoirse's definitely more of a realist than an optimist or pessimist, and prefers to have all the facts about something and all of her options laid out before her before she makes decisions.

- She is also incredibly dependable and loyal, though the latter can be quite dependant on how loyal she feels you are towards her. Friendships are very much two way streets to her; the more you give her in loyalty and positive experiences, the more she'll give in return, and gladly.

- Trust worthy; This is a young lady you could trust with pretty much anything, whether it's your wallet and car keys or your spare kidney in an ice box. The only secret she won't keep is one that will endanger somebody else by being kept.

- Helpful and compassionate, Saoirse will more often help someone in need than walk by, even if it's just a small gesture. While she doesn't really believe in karma, she does believe in putting more good into the world than bad where you can help it.

- Despite her outwardly quite timid nature at times, she is surprisingly brave, and willing to be the first one to step into the next adventure her friends

- She is very good with money and with budgeting; though both of her parents are fairly well off, they're careful to not let her become spoiled - quite the challenge at times, as she's an only child. Her father would make sure she was only brought things she would actually enjoy and use, and only gave her pocket money if she earned it. This has given Saoirse a real appreciation for the belongings she has, and has also helped to instil in her a good work ethic. She's a hard worker, and only commits to something if she knows she'll be able to give her all at it.

Background:

Born during a storm one Halloween, up until the age of 11 Saoirse was raised in Belfast, Ireland. Shortly after that, the family moved to London to accommodate her mother's work as a skilled criminal lawyer, while her father continued his work as a University psychology professor and author. Her upbringing wasn't exactly anything out of the ordinary, asides from the fact that she was born with the ability to not only see the ghosts or spirits of the deceased, but communicate with them as well.

This first came to her parents' attention when she was just six years old. Her grandfather had recently passed away, and at the funeral, Saoirse was more than a little confused that her grandfather's body was at the front of the church laid out in his casket, but also stood at the end of their pew, watching over the service. Later that night when she was being put to bed, she asked her mother about it, to which she received stern, clipped instructions to never mention it and never to say 'things like that' again.

Since then, Saoirse has gotten very good at keeping her ability to herself, though it wasn't until she got into middle school and became good friends with a trio of boys in her class that she was able to openly talk about it more. Luke, Tyler and Eli were all avid fans of ghost hunting, spirit chasing, or whatever you wanted to call it. They loved anything supernatural, and after an evening spent in a graveyard testing her abilities, Saoirse was well and truly brought into their fold.

Throughout middle school and into high school, the four of them would seek out haunted houses and places, going adventuring there whenever they could with whatever shoddy equipment they could afford at the time, though Saoirse's purpose here was soon redefined as more than just the one to communicate with the dead.

She became something of a mediator; asking the permission of any ghosts present for them to be there, or to warn the boys if they weren't welcome. But more than that, if she's able somehow to bring any restless spirits peace or reassurance, she'll go out of her way to.

Now living with the three boys, Saoirse works two jobs and spends her free time either at home, or out with the trio investigating apparent hot-spots for spiritual activity.

Bits and bobs:

- She can play the piano, though it's been a while since she's done so

- She lives for horror films; the creepier or scarier, the more she loves it. This ties rather obviously into her love for dark clothing and her - at times - rather morbid sense of humour and sense of style. Her favourite accessory is a hair clip made from a re-purposed Raven's skull.

It's not a description she can really argue with.

- She loves painting, as well as both reading and writing, and will devour a book easily in one day given the chance.

- She's hates needles, but still gives blood like a trouper.

- One thing the boys have gotten her into if video games, and now she can't get enough of them, with 'Left 4 Dead' being her favourite.
